This Shipping & Freight Policy details our fulfillment timelines, freight handling procedures, shipping rates, and receiving requirements.
1. Order Processing & Dispatch Timelines
Standard Lead Time: Orders for standard in-stock items placed before 2:00 PM EST on business days (Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays) are typically processed and prepared for carrier pickup within 1 to 2 business days.
Bulk & Freight Orders: High-volume pallet orders, full truckload (FTL), or less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments may require 2 to 4 business days for staging, freight scheduling, and dock preparation.
Order Tracking: Once your shipment leaves our distribution center, an automated shipping confirmation email containing carrier tracking details or a Bill of Lading (BOL) tracking number will be sent to the email address associated with your account.
2. Shipping Rates & Delivery Methods
Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on order weight, package dimensions, destination zip code, and required delivery service level.
Parcel Shipping (Standard Ground): Used for smaller package orders via major commercial couriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS). Delivery typically takes 2 to 5 business days depending on destination.
LTL Freight Shipping: Used for bulk orders, heavy items, or oversized case packs that require palletization.
Expedited Shipping: Next-Day Air and 2nd-Day Air options are available upon request for urgent orders. Please contact our sales team at 801-919-6460 or sales@commercialsuppliers.net prior to order placement to arrange rush fulfillment.
For freight shipments delivered by commercial motor carriers, standard freight delivery is dock-to-dock to a commercial building with a loading dock or forklift access.
If your facility requires additional delivery services, you must select or notify us prior to shipment dispatch. Additional fees applied by freight carriers include:
Liftgate Service: Required if your facility does not have a loading dock or forklift to unload pallets from the trailer.
Residential / Limited Access Delivery: Applicable to deliveries made to non-commercial locations, government facilities, schools, construction sites, or restricted-access zones.
Inside Delivery: Required if the carrier driver must move pallets beyond the immediate loading dock or doorstep.
Redelivery & Detention Fees: If the freight carrier is unable to deliver due to incorrect address details, closed business hours, or customer unavailability, redelivery or storage charges assessed by the carrier will be billed to the Buyer.
4. Freight Receiving & Inspection Requirements
Crucial Notice for All B2B Deliveries: Risk of loss and title to products pass to the Buyer upon delivery to the carrier (FOB Shipping Point). To ensure full protection against freight loss or transit damage, Buyers must follow these steps upon delivery:
Count & Verify Pallets/Boxes: Verify that the count of pallets and cases matches the Bill of Lading (BOL) before signing the carrier’s receipt.
Inspect Packaging Thoroughly: Inspect outer shrink-wrap, pallets, and boxes for crushed corners, punctures, tears, or signs of tampering.
Document Damage on BOL: If any damage or missing pieces are observed, you MUST explicitly note the damage on the carrier’s Bill of Lading / delivery receipt (e.g., “2 boxes crushed, 1 pallet missing shrink wrap”).
Report Within 48 Hours: Contact Commercial Suppliers immediately at sales@commercialsuppliers.net or 801-919-6460 within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damaged goods and a copy of the noted BOL.
Claims for damage or shortages that were not noted on the delivery receipt cannot be honored by the shipping carrier.
5. Address Changes & Order Modifications
Once an order has been dispatched from our warehouse, address changes or rerouting requests (reconsignment) are subject to carrier availability and carrier reconsignment fees, which are the responsibility of the Customer.
6. Shipping Destinations & International Orders
Contiguous United States: We ship to business addresses across the 48 contiguous U.S. states.
Alaska, Hawaii & U.S. Territories: Freight rates for non-contiguous states/territories require custom freight quotes. Please contact sales prior to ordering.
P.O. Boxes: We cannot ship LTL freight or standard parcel items to P.O. Boxes. A valid physical commercial or residential street address is required.
